Reviews of "This Could Be Good":

The Bowling Green News - Grade: A

"Listening to 45 straight minutes of acoustic guitar playing might get repetitive, monotonous, and frankly, quite boring.

Dickinson eliminates that outcome by playing the harmonica on half the tracks, and varying his vocal style from song to song.

Thanks to these variations, our fellow native Ohioan thought his album could be good.

But Dickinson was wrong - it's incredible."

"When it’s good, it’s great, and when it’s great, it’s downright fantastic.  Standouts lie in “On the D Train” and “Reality #33”, expertly crafted emotional folk/pop that rank among the best songs I’ve heard this year."

"The music is not pretentious, the lyrics do not twist into shock value, and this is why it works.  My theory is probably a load of shit, but natural music selection suggests Dickinson will at least have a cult following for his folk-pop - because he is a good songwriter, he is a good musician, and there’s not a scrap of the commercial envy or pretentious attitude that has made the idea of “local music” such a disgusting one."

"Conor Oberst can continue his reign as Mr. Young Songwriter America, but I won’t care until he takes a lesson from an unlikely person:  Tempe, Arizona’s Joe Dickinson."
