Gorgeous Bloodsucker
by Joe Dickinson
she’s got a smile that could kill a man,
make a serpent blush.
she always was the favored one,
but that never meant too much.
a phone call to a long lost friend,
a distant relative.
she always wanted a caretaker,
she always wanted a reason to live.
and in the end the love we made,
won’t hurt the railroad chain.
she’s always looking for one last drink,
she’s always looking for someone to blame
for the fall,
i’m sorry, but you can’t have it all.
sharp words from a wicked tongue,
hit hard and then fall flat.
she took a chance on a romance life,
she swore she’s never come back.
yeah she said alot of things,
that ended up untrue.
she sais sh’ed never be a sucker for love,
she said she’d never be blue.
“i’m really different from all of them”
she’s say, to which i’d reply,
“if you’re so different show some proof,
otherwise it’s a lie,
and that won’t stand,
i’m sorry babe, but you’ll have to find yourself a new friend.”
a generation of sheltered love,
can’t even tie there shoes.
the universe is infinite,
that means i’ve got nothing to lose.
i’m taking off without you,
to see what i can hold.
i’m nothing without your love,
at least that’s what i’m told.
three miles outside of town,
and i’ve already got regrets.
maybe there’s someone out there, though,
someone that i’ve never met,
that’d be nice,
i’m sorry babe, but i think i’ve seen the light.
